Saving you money

We can help you with two of life’s certainties, taxes and change.  All your taxation matters are handled by our qualified and experienced team whose vast knowledge contributes greatly to our overall service. Your contact Partner will discuss tax saving initiatives with you, throughout the year.

Corporate Taxation

Corporate taxation is quite a diverse subject and is not just about completing end-of-year returns.  We look at your industry to determine what reliefs are available to you; the structure of your business and operating year-end; how you handle disposals and acquisition of assets; how you can maximise benefits on expenditure; and your compliance with the appropriate tax legislation.

Income Tax

We have been a client of Whitnalls for over 15 years and have found their service to be extremely professional, prompt and courteous.

We have turned to Whitnalls for advice on complex issues relating to partnerships and limited companies, capital allowances, cash flow and perhaps most importantly tax planning. The advice received

has always been thorough,

detailed, and enabled us to make those important decisions.

We would highly recommend anyone needing professional accounting services to speak

to Whitnalls.

Our aim is to make your self assessment return as painless as possible. We can advise you on appropriate matters and we will always look to find ways of reducing your tax liability.

If you are currently involved in any tax investigations, please get in touch to see how we can help.

To provide peace of mind, we offer a Tax Enquiry Fee Protection Service.  The Service is backed by an insurance policy under which we can claim the costs of defending clients in tax enquiries. Clients who subscribe to the Service will also be able to obtain helpful advice about the complex areas of Health & Safety and Employment Law.

Our Fees are always competitive and will vary, depending on the complexity of your affairs.

Value Added Tax (VAT)

We offer a range of services relating to VAT. If you intend to use us for your bookkeeping and accounting requirements, then you don't have to worry about VAT. We take care of it for you. Alternatively, for a small fee, send us details of your receipts and expenses on one of our templates and we will complete and take care of all aspects of your VAT returns. We can help you to better understand the implications of being VAT registered, and can provide help for new start up businesses.

Do I need to be VAT registered?

If you are just starting out in business and unsure whether you need to be VAT registered, we can advise you.

You will need to be VAT registered if your annual turnover exceeds the threshold details of which can be found in our Tax Resource Centre.

If your turnover does not reach the threshold required by law to register for VAT, it may still be beneficial for you to register.  We can help you make that decision.  We can also help you with any VAT related questions including:

Other Taxes

We are also able to provide tax planning advice in areas such as Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax.
